Treat Your Network with Respect to Get Respect

Respect for one another is an extremely important principle. Without it, you will have a very dificult time building relationships. Treat others the way that you would like to be treated.

Focused Conversations

During conversations with others, give them your full attention and listen to what they have to say. Stay focused and have good eye contact. You don't want to come across as rude or someone who doesn't care. The more you care the more respect you will get.

In addition, when you are focused, you can find out what needs other have. Therefore, you can find ways to help and further build your relationships.

Follow Through

When you tell people you will do something for them, make sure to follow through. People are counting on you to fullfill your obligations. If you don't do what you say you are going to do, then your reputation will be on the line.

People don't do business with those who they don't trust. Make sure that you are perceived as a trustworthy person. 

Be Nice

When interacting with others, make sure to have a good demeanor and treat people in a nice way. Make others feel comfortable around you so don't be hostile.

Smile when others enter the room and maintain a good composure. Your personal brand is on the line with every interaction so be polite.
