I seem to have the most problem with #6, not because I don't want to hear the other person, but because I get carried away with a project or a story. Next thing I know, I've talked solid for several minutes.

I usually catch myself and it's embarrassing, but I think most people will forgive you if you're honest "sometimes I get carried away" and then are determined to let them talk.

Jason Jacobsohn

It is not necessarily a problem if the other person is letting you talk. A good conversationalist should let the other person talk.
