You are probably wondering why I have been writing a lot lately about the holidays. Well, it is because this time of the year is so important for relationship building so it requires the extra attention. During the holidays, families and friends come together so you will have the chance to re-connect with people. Tonight, I had the chance to have dinner with some friends that I hadn't seen in a couple of years. They were in Chicago for the holidays because their families live in the area.
We had a chance to catch up and learn about each other's lives. I am thankful for this time of the year because you have the opportunity to see people that you might not otherwise see. Be proactive and make sure that you schedule time to see people. In a couple of more days, I will be traveling to Milwaukee to see my parents but also to see some more friends that I haven't seen in awhile.
The holidays are a great time to re-establish and build relationships. It is less about meeting new people and more about maintaining your existing relationships from high school or college. Treat these relationships very serious because they are likely to be with you for a very long time. Having these deep relationships can open up doors because there is already strong trust and credibility. So, your friends should have no problem helping you out when you need the assistance.
Once again, have fun and enjoy reminiscing about the good times together with more to come.
