At some point in our life, we tend to not care as much about what others think about us. Generally, this is true for family, friends, and strangers. However, your reputation and image is very important in business circles. So, you should care about what others think in these circles.
At all times, you should act professional and courteous to others who you interact with at networking events and those who you are introduced to by your network. In addition, your appearance should be professional and appropriate in every situation. You will get judged in the first few seconds of each encounter so make sure that you are seen favorably.
If people don’t think too highly of you, then it will get around to others in your circle. Once this happens, you will have a much harder time building relationships and conducting business. You don’t want to hurt your credibility so make sure that you are thought of in a positive light by others.
