1. Face to Face – Connecting in person is still a very important aspect of relationship building. Don’t let technology replace face time.
2. Email – Communicating via email is one of the most effective ways to connect one-on-one and to your network at large.
3. E-Newsletter – Sending out electronic newsletters is a way to reach your entire network at large. It is important to show value and stay top of mind on a frequent basis.
4. Twitter – Daily communication and sharing of information is great for building your credibility and trust with your network.
4. Blog – Demonstrating your expertise is important for long term relationship building. Finding ways to share information is important.
5. Phone – Picking up the phone to talk to people in a live voice is still important. Pick new people in your network to call each week.
6. Social/Professional Networking - Interacting online is a great way to share your personal and business endeavors to your network at large.

Great 6 ways, thanks!
I also think that the choice of the medium is important.
We tend to "under-prioritise" the phone. It is an extremely useful tool for networking. I recently wrote about the benefits of th phone over email:

The book "Let's Connect" (by Jan Vermeiren, page 234) presents also a good comparison of tools and when to use which. He suggests to use the phone to get appointments, to solve problems, and as a substitute when face to face is not possible.
