1. Referrals – Ask for referrals for client prospects, business partners, service provider needs, etc. Your contacts should have no problem opening up their network to help if you ask them.
2. Testimonials – Ask people for testimonials if you have done business with them. It is important to have these from people who you trust because prospects or other people may ask for them. Also, if you use LinkedIn, then have some people provide recommendations here as well.
3. Credibility - If people in your network like you, then you should be able to count on them to say nice things about you to others. As a result, your credibility will go up with others.
4. Opportunities – You will be presented with opportunities on a regular basis because you are someone your network values. Opportunities could be for jobs, speaking gigs, business deals, etc.
5. Friendship – As you get to know people very well, you will become friends with many of those in your network. It is important that you know people on both a personal and business level.
What other ways can you get value from your network?
