According to a survey of 2,092 social media users by British-based Legal & General, "nearly four in ten, or 38 percent, of people using social networking sites like Facebook or Twitter post details about holiday plans and 33 percent details of a weekend away."
Kind of scary. According to this survey, many people become friends with people whom they don't know and post information about their whereabouts and recent purchases.
So, be careful with what you post online about yourself. Your digital identity opens you up to the world so be smart about what you share.
