Put Your Money Where Your Heart Is: Investment Strategies for Lifetime Wealth from a #1 Wall Street Stock Picker
was written by Natalie Pace who is the number #1 stock picker on Wall Street, hosted her own show on Forbes.com, and has her own business at NataliePace.com. In fact, Natalie’s story is amazing because she maneuvered her way out of poverty as a single mother to become a force on Wall Street and is now able to live the life she wants. Her story is similar to Chris Gardner, homeless man turned stockbroker, which was played by Will Smith in the movie, The Pursuit of Happyness. I would not be surprised if a movie is made some day about Natalie’s story.
The book is broken up into the following parts:
Part I: Get Educated
Part 2: Get Involved
Part 3: Get Savvy
Part 4: Get Rich-And Stay Rich
When I first picked up this book, I thought that it would be a typical investment book with a lot of technical information. However, as I started reading the book, I was pleasantly surprised that it was not that kind of book. The book does has minimal technical information but not enough to make it a challenging read. Natalie writes in a very conversational style so it was an easy read.
The author is passionate about investing so she shares with readers her investment style and how she became so successful at investing in stocks. Rather than spending a lot of time on research and focusing on numbers, she suggests that you should invest in companies where your interest lies. Of course, you need to spend some time evaluating the firms. She shares some good techniques to help you with your due diligence. While it may take time to leverage her techniques to find winning stock picks, she provides a great framework for anyone to get started.
The chapters “Lessons Learned from Enron” and “Top Eleven Signs the CEO Is Rolling in Your Dough” were very informative and a nice surprise in an investment book.
What I like about this book is that what Natalie writes about is what she learned after she overcame adversity to become a stock market expert. Her story is remarkable and one that we can all learn from.
If you want to become a better stock investor, then her book is worth a read. Also, Put Your Money Where Your Heart Is: Investment Strategies for Lifetime Wealth from a #1 Wall Street Stock Picker
tells a fascinating story about Natalie so that alone is interesting to learn.
