With summer here, some people tone down their networking activities. In fact, relationship building should always take place, no matter the season. During the summer, you have the opportunity to interact with people in different environments and in more casual ways.
Below are ten tips to keep you going during the summer.
1. Attend social events hosted by networking groups, friends, and employers
2. Host your own sports outing to a baseball game or golf
3. Host your own happy hours for your network
4. Take advantage of summer hours to re-connect with old contacts and meet with new people
5. Don’t dress too casual when not appropriate
6. Work on your personal brand by writing articles, creating a blog, or preparing speeches
7. Seek out new opportunities to meet people
8. Re-evaluate your volunteer efforts with organizations
9. Seek out speaking opportunities with networking organizations
10. Focus on taking 1-2 new people to lunch each week
