How you may ask? It is rather simple. The fact is that online networking produces no paper or trash. I know that this could be argued based on energy usage and the possibility of printing off paper. However, for the most part it appears that this activity is not hurting the environment.
Below are some pros and cons as to whether online networking is a green activity.
Pros
1. No printing of paper
2. No gas usage driving to meet people
3. Less electricity usage because don’t have to power a physical meeting room
4. Less food waste because not meeting in person
Cons
1. Possibility of printing off people’s information before meeting them
2. Extra energy usage due to more people online
3. More light usage at home due to computer usage after work hours
4. More food waste due to extra snacking eating late at night when online
