Dan Schawbel of Personal Branding Blog has created a very neat magazine called Personal Branding Magazine. Dan is a perfect example of someone who has branded himself as a subject matter expert. He has truly gone over the top by putting together this magazine. In fact, I can tell you that many relationships were developed as a result of this endeavor, including mine with Dan.
Dan has just released his second edition, which includes an article about Jack Welch, former legendary CEO of GE. Also, Dan shares an exclusive interview with Philip Rosedale, founder of Second Life.
Amazingly, Dan had 37 authors from around the world who contributed to this issue. I was priveleged to be one of these authors and wrote the article, "Attend a Variety of Business Events".
Here is Dan's opening note about this issue:
"Personal Branding Magazine is about you, your brand and your professional career development. With a collection of some of the most talented thought leaders on the internet, this magazine exposes information that you can relate to and use in everyday life. Personal branding is not only the future of recruitment, but a necessity in a world driven by social communities, both online and off. Explore topics such as blogging, social networking, multimedia and advice on how to have a successful job search.
Volume 1 Issue 2 focuses on the power of leadership in personal branding, using Jack Welch as a best practice. This issue will emphasize the importance of packaging your brand into a consumable product, as well as the need to be authentic, accountable and reputable. With examples and professional commentary, you will discover how to improve your networking, communication and confidence. The magazine format and material has evolved, taking into account subscriber feedback and the entirely new Personal Branding Magazine staff."
I encourage you to subscribe to this magazine, which is very nominal. Also, all proceeds go to the American Cancer Society.
