I was recently tagged by Mike Maddaloni, which means that I have to share 8 random things about myself. This is something that has been going around in the blogosphere for awhile and is a great idea because it gives bloggers the opportunity to share some interesting facts about themselves to their readers. So, here are 8 random facts about me:
1. I went skydiving in college. I didn't tell my parents until about 10 years later! Boy, were they surprised.
2. I have played electric guitar since high school. I was inspired by the 80's heavy metal bands. Yes, I enjoyed listening to the hair bands! I will even admit that I still enjoy the music from time to time. Oh, the memories! Also, I haven't been able to play as much since I started blogging. True story!
3. I took a European backpack trip my senior year in college. My friend and I traveled to 13 different cities within 7 different countries in 3 weeks! What a fast way to travel. Don't ask me to remember all of the cities (actually, I can still remember them). I can tell you that it was a real eye opener and one that I will never forget.
4. I am a Green Bay Packer's fan. Since I grew up as a Cheesehead in Wisconsin, it is in my blood. Also, how can you not like Brett Favre? It can be challenging at times because I live in Illinois and my neighbor has a Bears mailbox.
5. I started golf when I was in the 5th grade so I have been playing for over 20 years. Golf is one of my passions and I try to play whenever I can. However, with 2 kids and work, it is difficult to play on a regular basis. Honey, if you are reading this, it is worth it!
6. I got introduced to relationship building my freshman year in college. In fact, I took my first leadership role within an organization that same year. Who knew that I would be blogging about networking all of these years later?
7. I used to collect Mad and Cracked magazines. I would go to as many flea markets as I could to buy old issues. I had pretty much all of the Cracked and most of the Mad except for the real early issues, which were hard to find. After awhile, I got tired of collecting so I sold them to a friend for a low price. I wish that I still had them!
8. I grew up on a lake and decided that I wanted a pet turtle. So, I caught one and took it out of its natural environment and put into a fish tank. I was responsible for its death. Poor Lumpy! I also did this with a fish.
