As your network grows and you build a solid reputation in your community or industry, people will start to approach you for help. You should be honored that people consider you as a resource. Your tendency may be to blow off some of these people because you may be too busy and don't want to be bothered. Well, don't do it! Your brand and reputation are at stake.
Take the time and effort to help as many people as you can. Always provide them with a takeaway that will help them to get closer to their goal. Many times you will be able to help people directly. For the times that you can't immediately help, refer them to someone who can. This is a great time to leverage your network and ask for assistance. In fact, it is a great way to catch up with some people that you haven't spoken to in awhile.
